The output and economic benefit of wind farm depend to the site for wind turbines. When wind farm is built in the mountain, to evaluate the field’s wind energy distribution is so difficult only with limited data from observation.
Wind field in complex terrain site, if slopes are steep (> 20 deg) then we see flow separation,reversing flow and very high turbulence levels,it can be damaging for wind turbines.We need higher density of measurement masts to be able to calculate wind resource. Mast can not reach the service of small scale wind capture, and then Lidar.Wind Lidar are gaining attraction, because they have the ability to measure up and even above the sweep area height and can easily be moved to measure at several locations of the project site.
